Lewis Tankers, recently acquired from Simon Storage in a management buy-out, has won a major UK distribution contract with AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals. Lewis has been handling methyl chloride for the Dutch manufacturer for the past 12 months and the new contract will add other products to the contract. The products are imported into the UK at Simon's Immingham terminal. "This is a great start for us," says Lewis Tankers' managing director Stewart MacDonald. "We have built up an excellent relationship with AkzoNobel and are delighted that they have shown their faith in the new management team in such a positive way. It is particularly satisfying to win additional business from an existing customer as it is testament to the fact that we are getting things right both in terms of service quality and commercially."
