Univar has signed a new agreement with OXEA to distribute its OXFILM 351 coalescing agent across the Benelux countries, France, Italy, Spain and the Nordic region. "OXFILM 351 is a promising product for us and we see significant potential for it in these territories," says Jacco de Haas, OXEA's global marketing manager, specialty esters. "Univar is the right partner for growing this product next to our existing sales channels. Univar has an impressive coatings business in these countries and really understands the local markets. Being able to introduce OXFILM 351 to an existing customer base also made them an attractive partner for us."

Univar has also inked a deal with BASF to market and distribute its plastics additives and polymers in Turkey, a country Univar identifies as presenting significant business opportunities. "We are delighted to start this relationship with Univar in the Turkish market and we strongly believe that its knowledge of the plastics industry in the region, together with its local presence, will be of mutual benefit for our business relationship," says BASF vice-president Dirk Kruse. "We are confident that our extensive additives and polymer product offering will better reach this growing market by working together with Univar."

"As a high quality additives and polymers supplier, with an excellent product range, BASF's partnership with Univar is a strategic fit," explains Nick Powell, Univar's vice-president Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Greece. "This association will further enhance our product and service offering to our Turkish customers, enabling them to develop truly innovative products and gain competitive advantage."

Meanwhile, Dow has extended its relationship with Univar-owned e-distributor ChemPoint.com, naming it the exclusive North American distributor of its UCON™ line of oil-soluble polyalkylene glycols (OSPs). "ChemPoint has been a trusted distributor for 10 years," says Dow's market manager Brian Goldstein. "Due to the high demand we have seen for UCON OSPs, we are confident that ChemPoint's high level of service quality and in-depth knowledge of the lubricant and chemical solutions industry will provide the greatest value to our customers."

"We have seen firsthand how the unique chemistry of OSPs is revolutionising the lubricants industry," says ChemPoint marketing manager Brena Gattuccio. "Dow has an excellent reputation for being a leading solutions provider and we are honoured that the team selected ChemPoint to be the exclusive North American distributor."
