Robogrind on the move

The Robogrind company, makers of Robogrind automated tank grinding technology for tank container maintenance, announces that Chemion Logistik, in Leverkusen, Germany, has purchased one of Robogrind’s latest models of the device, the RG550 RP. “After a week intensive training of four robot operators, Chemion Logistik is now ready to provide the excellent Robogrind service that many have experienced already at other locations,” says Robogrind.

Robogrind is a first-of-its-kind mechanical device that performs computer-calibrated grinding work on the inside of a tank container to mitigate the effects of corrosion. Robogrind’s makers say that the device produces better quality results, in significantly less time, than manual grinds. To operate the Robogrind device, maintenance technicians can manually set it up inside a tank, calibrate it via computer according to the kind of process needed, and then operate it by remote control from outside the tank.
