Reichhold streamlines with Transplace
Transplace, a Texas-headquartered technology and third-party logistics (3PL) service provider, has been picked by Reichhold to manage part of its US domestic transport requirements. Reichhold, which operates 20 manufacturing sites and five technology centres around the world, expects the arrangement to result in ongoing cost savings, enhanced service levels and improved visibility.
“After looking for a North American 3PL partner for full truckload shipments, we selected Transplace as a good fit to help Reichhold streamline and simplify our supply chain operations, thereby allowing us to better serve our customers,” says Don Brandt, Reichhold’s purchasing, logistics and quality manager. “With its combination of transportation industry experience, people and technology, Transplace plays an important role in our transportation network.”
Transplace will now procure and manage its client’s truckload contracts in addition to handling its freight audit and payment processes. “Our partnership with Reichhold is further evidence of Transplace’s growth as a provider to the chemical industry,” asserts Transplace’s senior vice-president Frank McGuigan. “We worked closely with Reichhold to understand its business needs and to develop a solution configured to the company’s requirements. By leveraging our chemical industry experience, logistics expertise and scale, Lean Six Sigma-based processes and award-winning technology, we have already delivered both financial and service value.”
