Polar gets ASME R-stamp

US road tanker manufacturer and maintenance provider Polar announces that its Phoenix, Arizona, service centre has received ASME R-stamp certification to perform repairs on US Department of Transportation-coded (DOT) tanks and pressure vessels. 

“The National Board R-stamp certifies our Phoenix location to test and repair all makes of coded pressure tanks,” says Polar. “This includes the testing of welding and bodywork on DOT 406, DOT 407, and DOT 412 tank trailers.” 

Polar opened its 8,000-square-foot facility in Phoenix in July 2011 and began the R-stamp certification process shortly thereafter. Polar’s Phoenix location has five service bays and one half-service bay. In addition to tank repairs, services include pressure and vapour recovery testing, MC330/331 retesting, and aftermarket parts supply.
