No doubt about it

AVIATION Airport operators in many parts of the world have been reluctant to highlight too effectively the risks posed by the sorts of dangerous goods carried by passengers on aircraft.

This is not really surprising – they do not, after all, want to frighten their customers off flying altogether. Having said that, regulators are keen to get the word out to the travelling public. There are some real risks involved in passengers’ carry-on bags and incidents have happened. This, presumably is the sort of thing they want to see in airports. It is, though, something of a shame that it is Namibia that has taken the bull by the horns rather than one of the larger ICAO members.
