New structure for Lehnkering
Imperial Logistics International has announced how its newly acquired Lehnkering operations will fit into its overall structure. Lehnkering's activities have been grouped into three divisions. All inland waterway operations now come under Lehnkering Shipping Logistics & Services (SLS) with Robert Baack continuing his role as COO. The Rhein-Fracht and Lehnkering brands are being retained for chemical, mineral oil and gas tanker shipping under a new Liquid Cargo Services division; Lehnkering's dry bulk shipping business moves to the Dry Bulk Services division of Imperial Shipping.
Lehnkering Road Logistics & Services (RLS) takes over all intra-European road transport and related services. Lehnkering Chemical Transport (LCT) is headed by COO Uwe Willhaus, while two other RLS divisions, covering LTL/FTL and steel logistics, are headed by CFO Walter Steinig.
Lehnkering Chemical Manufacturing Services (CMS) takes over the business activities of Lehnkering subsidiary Schirm GmbH. It is headed by COO Dr Bernd Müller, continuing his previous role.
"This restructuring is aimed at further strengthening the core competencies of the entire corporation as well as coordinating the service portfolios of Imperial and Lehnkering," says Gerhard Riemann, CEO of Imperial Logistics and of Lehnkering Holding. "In this way we want to further expand our joint sector presence in Europe and enable our customers to benefit from the new opportunities on the market as quickly as possible."
