NACD to preside over ICCTA
The US National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) is to preside over the International Council of Chemical Trade Associations (ICCTA) for a two-year term. Mat Brainerd, chairman of Brainerd Chemical and NACD treasurer will serve as ICCTA president, with NACD president Chris Jahn named as ICCTA secretary. "I feel strongly committed to programmes like Responsible Distribution, Responsible Care and Social Responsibility but am compelled to state that the true success of those programmes is only possible through independent, third-party verifications (TPVs)," Brainerd states. "One of my initiatives as ICCTA president is to advance the TPV programmes among ICCTA members so that all ICCTA members will be fully compliant with TPV."
"Just as the Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors (CACD), the Brazilian Association of Chemicals Distributors (Associquim) and NACD have independent third party verifications of our Responsible Distribution programmes, we would like all ICCTA members to commit to the same type of integrity and accountability that only exists through an independent assessment of a distributor's policies and procedures," Jahn adds.
