Kem, a joint venture between Germany’s Stockmeier Holding and Overlack, has completed its acquisition of Quaron France following approval from the German competition authority. Through this transaction, Kem says, the company has gained “a strong foothold” in the second largest chemical distribution market in Europe.

“A period of uncertainty with respect to Quaron’s future has now ended,” states Quaron general manager Bruno Lafabregue. “We are happy to become partners of two major strategic players in our industry.” Quaron France currently services around 7,000 customers and operates facilities in or near Rennes, Lille, Paris, Niort and Bordeaux with a strong focus on blending, formulating and packaging. Kem reports that it does not intend to make any changes to the structure or the management of the acquired company.
