Guanxi proposes chemical management regs

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south-west China is working on a revision of the Regulation on the Safety Control of Dangerous Chemicals. The Regulation aims to effectively improve safety in the handling of dangerous chemicals. The draft of the revision is now soliciting public opinions. According to local media, the draft defines that the main person in charge of the dangerous chemical company is accountable for the company’s safety production; the draft encourages companies engaged in the production, storage and use of dangerous chemicals to participate in safety liability insurance; it also encourages small and medium-sized enterprises to employ professional agencies for safety management services.
