FMCSA tightens HOS rule

FMCSA has issued a final rule amending its hours of service (HOS) regulations. The changes relate to the use of the 34-hour restart provision and will, FMCSA says, affect a small number of drivers who regularly work longer hours. The rule does not change the current 11-hour daily driving limit, as had been originally proposed, since FMCSA has not been able to demonstrate any net benefits.
