North American railroad Canadian National (CN) has completed the merger of three of its US operating subsidiaries. CN expects that the merger of Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway Company (DMIR), Duluth, Winnipeg and Pacific Railway Company (DWP), and Wisconsin Central (WC) will simplify CN’s corporate structure and operations by combining the affiliates into a single entity: Wisconsin Central. “A unified workforce will allow better management of crew staffing and more efficient and reliable rail service to customers throughout the region, and beyond,” says CN.
