Cheaper trade with China

China has halved its inspection and quarantine charges on imported and exported dangerous goods from August 1. It is understood that the change comes as a response to a complaint from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation after inspection and quarantine measures were tightened earlier this year.

A circular issued jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance says the change will be in effect for three years, with the rate at which changes are levied falling from 0.3 per cent to 0.15 per cent.

China’s economic slowdown is encouraging the Government to ease the burden on trading companies.
