Barentz Europe has acquired UK-based Forum Products, enabling it to expand its presence on the local pharmaceutical, food and animal nutrition markets while further developing its life science capabilities. Furthermore, the addition of Forum’s Indian office will also provide Barentz with various opportunities in terms of both sales and the sourcing of pharmaceutical ingredients. “Forum is seen as the absolute specialist in the distribution of life science products,” says Barentz CEO Hidde van der Wal. “This fits perfectly into the Barentz strategy. Until now we were a bit under-represented in the UK compared to other European countries. Now we are filling this gap. The beauty for both parties is that the Forum portfolio does not create any conflict of interest but only synergies, so we can learn from each other. For the stakeholders this assures a great future.”

“The integration of Forum Products Ltd into the pan-European Barentz Group is a very good move for the organisation,” adds Forum’s managing director Chris Bloor. “Barentz values the expertise of our group and will fully utilise that expertise in a very constructive and professional way. With our life sciences finished products we will now have immediate access to all European countries. Barentz offers us a great European network with very strong synergies.”
